Established in 1998, Shaleem Petroleum Company SAOC has developed into a leading Omani owned Local Community Contracting Company with over 15 years’ experience delivering Well Maintenance and Workover Services. Today,Shaleem employs over 280 people and proudly represents the ownership interests of over 400 shareholders who are citizens of the Willayat of Shaleem.

Utilising self-propelled hoist equipment packages, backed up by a specialised transport fleet and mobile camps, we ensure
that our crews and equipment are available to deliver services to our customers 24-hours-a-day and 365-days-a-year in
remote desert locations. Shaleem specialises in providing Well Intervention and Maintenance Services on a wide range of
Development, Producer, Injector, Appraisal and Exploration wells. Since operations first started in the year 2000, Shaleem has
delivered over 3,000 wells for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).

Execution and management of well intervention activities includes, abandonment, preventive and break down repair
maintenance, completion, fishing, suspension, plugging and workover, together with remedial drilling activities such as
deepening and remedial side track.We are experienced in running, cutting and welding casing, landing and testing strings of
expandables, cutting and recovering wire wrap screens, casing, liner and tubing.

Our services include gas monitoring and pressure testing of well heads, casing, liner and tubing strings, operating well control
and blow out prevention equipment, casing, cementing, mixing, conditioning, monitoring and controlling completion fluids
and other chemicals.Our Support Engineering Teams provide specialist equipment inspection, maintenance, calibration and
certification activities to assure asset integrity and ensure continuous service delivery.

  • 1998

    Shaleem Petroleum Company was established following a directive from his Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to the local communities living in the oil field concession areas

  • 1999

    Shaleem was the First Local Community Company (LCC) to purchase a Workover hoist in Oman

  • 2000

    Shaleem was awarded a sub contract valued at US$8.5 million, to provide Well Maintenance Services to Petroleum Development Oman (PDO)

  • 2005

    Shaleem went on to win against local and international competition in an online bid to secure a 5 year PDO Well Maintenance and Workover Services Contract valued at US $87.9 Million and requiring the progressive mobilisation of 4-Standard and 1-Heavy Workover hoist. This contract was extended by PDO for a further 2 years and ended in 2012

  • 2006

    Shaleem was cited as an example of Best Practice when PDO received the Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum Best Business Management Award in recognition of their successful Local Community Company (LCC) Development strategyy

  • 2010

    Shaleem was operating five Workover Hoists and employing over 250-Omani crew and expatriate support engineering sta. Alongside other industry leading companies Shaleem received an Omanisation Excellence Award from the Ministry of Manpower

  • 2011

    Shaleem received a second Omanisation Excellence Award from the Ministry of Manpower

  • 2012

    With a third Omanisation Excellence Award from the Ministry of Manpower in hand, Shaleem was also awarded a further 10-year PDO Workover and Well Maintenance Contract valued at over US$240 Million

  • 2013

    All Shaleem hoists achieved Shell’s coveted Goal Zero safety performance standard

  • 2014

    2280-employees , operating 5-hoists (with a 6th unit ready for commissioning) with 100% Omani crews delivering service efficiency of 99.4%.
